The Legacy Equine Academy, Inc. (LEA) mission is to connect with African American and racially diverse youth providing access & exposure to the vast opportunities in the Equine & Agriculture Industries.

We introduce and expand the excitement of the Equine Industry to a wider audience who have not yet had that opportunity.  We champion diversity, equity, inclusion and opportunity to celebrate our great heritage here in the “Horse Capital of the World”.

Our goal is to bridge the historical contributions of African American trailblazers such as, Isaac Murphy and Jimmy Winkfield, to the modern traditions and future opportunities in the horse racing industry.

The LEA program allows African American and racially diverse Middle and High School students the unique opportunity to build life skills while learning horsemanship through base instruction. Our goal is to bridge the historical contributions of African American trailblazers to the modern traditions and future opportunities in the horse racing industry.

The Legacy Foundation is the method of truly giving back to our youth in the form of Legacy Equine Foundation Scholarships.  These scholarships go directly to the students to continue their education goals in the equine industry once they have graduated the Legacy Equine Academy.

The Legacy Society is a diverse group of difference makers in our community.  The members of the Legacy Equine Society are committed to the success and growth of the Legacy Equine Academy, Legacy Foundation and furthering the progress of enhancing the diversity in the Equine Industry.
